Medical Office Assistant – Full Time

ANP Foot & Ankle Clinic is ​​currently seeking a dedicated, detail-oriented and experienced individual to join our team as a Medical Office Assistant in our West Des Moines clinic. The Medical Office Assistant will be responsible for day-to-day administrative tasks in a medical office setting. In this full-time role, you will work directly with patients and the doctor to ensure smooth clinic operations and excellent patient experiences.

Key Responsibilities:

• Answering phones and scheduling appointments
• Gathering and maintaining patient information
• Preparing patients for examination and treatment
• Setting up treatment areas and operating rooms
• Assisting with surgical and non-surgical procedures
• Performing diagnostic tests
• Handling sales transactions
• Managing insurance filing, claims and payment posting
• Maintaining electronic records and schedules
  
  

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent education (some education after high school preferred)
• Prior experience as a medical office assistant or in a similar role
• Excellent telephone and interpersonal skills
• Thorough knowledge of medical front office functions, including insurance filing and claims/payment posting
• Good typing skills and attention to detail
• Proficiency in medical terminology and computer systems
• Ability to manage electronic information and schedules
• Familiarity with health care regulations and compliance, with an understanding of Medicare rules being beneficial
• Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and professionalism
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities

Additional Information:

• Training provided for tasks unique to our practice
• Normal hours–Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
• Occasional Saturday shifts–9:00 a.m. to noon

Salary:

$32,000-$42,000 / year, commensurate with experience
